Snap back to REALITY

Sheesh.. I really hate mondays -- I always try to open my super sticky eyes and drag myself to the bathroom (yep! I believe that I'm not really awake unless I took a bath) plus I have to endure the extra cold air swiping all over my body giving the chills and clickclacks of my jaws. What's worst is this is the first monday of the year after the 2 week long vacation, I suddenly came to realize that I despise working, I'd rather have and manage my own business than working for someone. Thus, I concluded --- I don't want to work anymore BUT REALITY KILLS MY DAYDREAMING, i snapped back to reality.

Earlier this morning, I tried arranging the mess from last year's activity which includes the Advent Recollection, FSSO Christmas Party and the last minute meeting with the Formation Council. The office was a mess and I had to clean it up before my boss arrives in the office to make a good impression. Nah, I intentionally want to have a sparkling area in the office but I bet that will never happen. First thing that my boss uttered was "Happy New Year Tin" and I did the same and eventually I learned that she didn't have a "happy" new year because she was confined in the hospital again for the same reason as before plus there were complications with her health. She told me that she's seeing a neurologist and might reconsider taking a 3 month rest for her sake. I immediately acknowledged the idea and told her it would be better to do it that way than let her rest for a while then she'll go back to the doctor again and so on, the cycle remains. My boss really needs to take her health seriously.

Eventually, I thought the day will be lighter but after our meeting with my boss regarding the activities for the month of January, I felt I had migraine attacks. Honestly, I always have migraine attacks after every meeting and I can feel my eyebrows meeting and wrinkles appearing. Imagine for the month of January alone, the activities listed consumed 2 pages of the short bookpaper. Oh well, I think I just have to bear with it. Reality, here I come again... See you Holy Week, looking forward!

Palm Reading

I just got home from a typical TGIF gimik with my friends - the usual crowd - me, my other half, arra, japs and japs' other half. Ever since I learned that Boboy (japs' otehr half) know how to read palms, I have been wanting to submit myself to my curiousity and tonight, I finally satisfied myself and found out some real sweet things...

According to Boboy as he read my palm:

1. I will be in 6 different careers
* from LCC, BPI, IBM, ILS and Ateneo, I have only 'fulfilled' 5 of them but according to Boboy motherhood is also a career so that would be the 6th not unless I work abroad, then that's the 6th.

2. I will be heartbroken twice
* MAYBE the first one was the time when I learned that Tim has a new girl and MAYBE just MAYBE the second time was when I had the fling in Manila or if these two doesn't count, then that means you have to wish me more luck.

3. I will only have at least 2-3 kids
* Well, that's good new because that's the number that I'd like to keep :D

4. I'll have long life
* That suits me well, I want to die of old age :)

5. I need to take care of my marriage life during the mid-year or else it might lead to separation
* scary, history repeats itself eh?

6. I'm a good lover but I'm prone to 'flings'
* According to Boboy, it's just that I'm exposed in a big environment so 'sight-seeing' is unavoidable

7. Yes No person
* According to Boboy again, I need to change my indecisiveness. If I say yes, then stick with it.

8. I will experience depression in my career
* I think I did when I was deciding to go back in Naga

AS FOR TIM:
1. He needs to take care of his health
2. He loves flirting with other girls or maybe it's the other way around
3. A good lover
4. Rocky marriage
5. Will succeed in his 3rd career

I don't know if these are all true but almost all of it was true, I mean I've experienced it. Anyhow, what I need to do is nurture what I have and be prepared for whatever challenge I may enocunter :)

A Humbling Experience

Something happened to me yesterday that gave me a bang in the head. I just decided to blog it today since my migraine's killing and I forced myself to sleep early which also means, I was not able to "fight" and "do missions" in mafia wars. So what really happened? you see, everytime I would arrive at the campus, it's like I'm always in a rush to go and open the locks of the office. I always had this feeling that I need to be ahead of my boss. I took it as a challenge since everytime I would arrive at the 2nd floor of the main building, I am embraced by an unlocked door, signed papers waiting to be distributed and the cool breeze of the ac as I greet my boss 'good morning'. Eventually, when she got confined in the hospital (I'm on my 3rd week then) she started to discipline herself which means I would arrive at the office earlier than her. So yesterday was just like any other day except Tim forgot to wake up early so we didn't go to school together. I left the house at the usual time, rode the Magsaysay jeep and *poof* a tricycle appeared just when I went down the jeep and safely brought me in the grounds of the campus. I entered the gate and greeted the guard and then with the usual brisk walking, I suddenly stopped -- my left leg suddenly stopped without knowing why and when I tried to lift my leg, it was stuck. To my horror, there was a hole that seemingly fit the circumference of my heels. The hole was terrifically perfect! I tried to 'free' myself but it was 'worthless' and then I started looking for someone to help me. My face definitely says that I need help, I feel like a damsel in a big distress. I even thought of asking the guard for help but I bet they couldn't hear my inner screams. To save myself from grave humiliation I pretended that I had a sprain. I somehow kneeled on the ground while trying to lift the heels of my shoe. Eventually, after 4 minutes of pure humiliation, the stupid hole set me free. I thought everything will end there but I was wrong. Just when I opened my door, I suddenly felt the urge of boosting the ac. I was already trying to open my boss' door when the key suddenly crooked. Out of panic, I just tried to remove the key and pretended that nothing happened. I left my things at my area and went down to the rest room. I intentionally left the door of my boss locked so she'd think that I had an emergency that I needed to rush somewhere and just dumped my bag at my area. Good thing she didn't notice it when I back. Well, that's my version of 3 Degrees of Humility -- only difference? I could only count two in a day.

Gamers = Breakups

For the record, we're still together but because of what happened earlier, I'm thinking twice of staying in the relationship. This happened for the nth time, countless times that I couldn't recall anymore. Him asking me to accompany him in the shop and eventually I ended up the one in charge of the business while sweet lil ol' him would play with his friends and eventually FORGETTING THAT SUPPOSEDLY HE SHOULD BE BUYING DINNER FOR US AS HE PROMISED but what happens is we ended up having no dinner for the night. This time, it's quite different. I volunteered to go to the shop and there he was, all cuddly and sweet and suddenly, the friends started encouraging the people around them to play. I told him it's okay to play since it was still early and we could have dinner at 8. The game started at 6:30pm and I tried to keep myself busy by looking at the auctions at e-bay. Later did I noticed that it was already 15 before 8 and alas! the game was finished. I was just not aware that my guy would still encourage his friends to play for another round. WTF?!? Supposedly, I should already be screaming "Hunnie, are you forgetting it's dinner time and we don't have anything to eat because the last minute before your started playing you said that you're going to buy us dinner" but I didn't out of respect for him and for his friends. So I ended up whining silently and wishing that I went straight at home so that I least I could have a normal meal. Ok, the big deal here is not really the meal but for god's sake, how many times have we ended up like this and the promises "Oo, d na mauulit. Sana d na ako naglaro." broken. God, I wish you could put yourself together and act mature. Remember, your dad's not here anymore, you are responsible for providing your family a better life. Palibasa nasanay ka. I couldn't really gauge how long I could take this and I'm not sure if I can still keep up with you. All I know is I threw the 'commitment' ring out of rage. Whatever happens, so be it!

Curfew

From Wikipedia's definition -- The word "curfew" comes from the French phrase "couvre feu" which means "cover the fire". It was used to describe the time of blowing out all lamps and candles. It was later adopted by the Medieval English language as "curfeu", which later became the modern "curfew".[1]
A curfew can be one of the following:
  1. An order by a government for certain persons to return home daily before a certain time. It can be imposed to maintain public order (such as those after the 2003 North America blackout and 2005 civil unrest in France), or suppress targeted groups (such as was enacted on Jewish people during the regime of Nazi Germany). Curfews have long been directed at certain groups in many cities or states, such as Japanese-American university students on the West Coast of the United States during World War II, African-Americans in many towns during the time of Jim Crow laws, or people younger than a certain age (usually within a few years either side of 18) in many towns of the United States since the 1980s; see below. Some jurisdictions have also introduced "daytime curfews" that would prevent high school-age youth from visiting public places during school hours or even during immediate after-school hours.
  2. An order by the legal guardians of a teenager to return home by a specific time, usually in the evening or night. This may apply daily, or is separate per occasion (especially concerning dating), or varies with the day of the week (earlier on a so-called school night, i.e., if the minor has to go to school the next day).
  3. A daily requirement for guests to return to their hostel before a specified time, usually in the evening or night. Arriving later has the consequence of being locked out until the morning. It allows the hostel to dispense with a doorman during the night, and improves quietness at night.
  4. In baseball, a time after which a game must end, or play be suspended. For example, in the American League the curfew rule for many years decreed that no inning could begin after 1 A.M. local time.
  5. Many airports operate with rules that during certain times, the airport will be effectively closed, to facilitate noise restrictions in areas under the airport's flight paths. Examples include LaGuardia Airport in New York City, and Sydney Airport in Sydney, Australia. The practice is commonly known as an Operating Curfew, or Movement Restriction.
To a much simpler definition -- is the exact time that Tita Mila starts calling Tim and is asking if he has plans of going home ^_^ (kbdihiansan, 2009) * so don't tell me what curfew means all right? *
