The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

A close friend gave me this book just last December because he knows that it will make me happy. I've been curious with the book ever since somebody (it's PJ I think) recommended the book to me and after a few months, one of my close friends (Kixie) told me that I should have the "must-have" book and then I decided to drop by National Book Store but when I saw the price I felt disheartened but I vowed to myself that I will have the book. Eventually, the guy that I was with during that time was an angel and unexpectedly, he gave me the book as his Christmas gift. That was my first experience of the LAW OF ATTRACTION.

Basically, the law of attraction is simple. YOU JUST HAVE TO BE POSITIVE THAT YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU WANT. Think of the world as a genie and tell the genie that you want this and you will get it. It applies to everything, from the weight that you want to the material things that you've always been craving for. You should just "feel" that it's as if you have what you've been always wanting for.

The only downside of the book is that it teaches you to "expect" that you'll be getting what you want which is contradictory to my belief. I've always believed that people shouldn't expect too much for they might be frustrated. It goes for me because when I'm not expecting things to happen, the emotions would linger longer than the expected events. But nevertheless, the book is good.

The book also teaches everyone to be optimistic. Optimism is one of the key to success if I'm not mistaken. Positive people would always succeed because in their mind, they know and believe that they can take the challenges of life and regardless of the failure, they would stand up and be proud of their bruises. One thing more, the book inculcates the value of sharing. There's a portion on the book which advises people not to think that they lack money because it will attract events for them to lose money. People should always think that they have more than enough and it's a requirement to share the excess.

More or less, the book will be a great help to those who needs a boost in their morale particularly for those who find it hard to believe in themselves. The book also shows you the values you need, to live a happy life. But let's face it, not everything you want will be laid on your feet, everybody should work hard as well. PLUS, you always get what you deserve right?

Questions -- Blaque

I wanna know why this feels so right
I wanna know why u hold me tight
Each and every night, it keeps me up all night
Thinkin' about the things i like
Can't believe your in my life
I wanna know why ur the one
The things that they should have you've already done
God sent u straight to me
You make me wanna sing lalalalala

Chorus:
But when you look at me, do you see your wife?
Can you picture us lovin' each other for life?
Are you playin' the role, just like the rest
These are the questions that I ask myself
If, another should come, who's finer than me
And she wanna take your love away, would you leave?
Baby please answer these questions

Could this be my whole fantasy
Maybe u could just be too good for me
If i don't wake then I won't see
Cuz if im not the one you met, then who is in me
In the mist of the tears how come, I love you more, and more, and more
I never longed for no one, yes its true
Seems like this questions keep me here with me

Chorus:
But when you look at me, do you see your wife?
Can you picture us lovin' each other for life?
Are you playin' the role, just like the rest
These are the questions that I ask myself
If, another should come, who's finer than me
And she wanna take your love away, would you leave?
Baby please answer these questions

If you, really wanna be with me
Then ill say, I love you endlessly
One thing that I really wanna know
Will this end or will this grow
And now if you really be wanna be with
I'll love you endlessly
One thing that I really wanna know
Will this end or will this grow

Chorus:

Reflections of a Probinsyana

1. There is no rule saying that YOU SHOULD NOT DINE ALONE. Ever since I've been nested under my friends' wings, I've always thought and felt that having to eat out all alone by yourself seem awkward.  I was thinking THEN that some people (esp. those dining with someone) might be whispering and taking pity on you as they start to think that you might not have any friends at all which is eventually NOT TRUE. It just showed how insecure I am...that as soon as I have to retrack myself without someone engulfing me with a wing, truth is I simply can't stand alone, I was dependent even up to the point of determining my identity. Yes, your group can help you establish your identity but sooner or later you have to detach your own identity from your group identity.  Honestly, it helped me appreciate myself more. HAVE TIME FOR YOUR SELF. It was the really relieving and it made me more confident, not only when facing the "crowd" but confident that I had the identity that was from me, not from my friends, not from what people expect from me, but what i can call as my own.

2. Metro Manila is not a scary place after all.  I thought it was true that every I go, I would see crimes, accidents and all those negative things that you can think about it. The explanation: Metro Manila is a big place which means that the number of crimes committed in the our province would be REALLY minimal plus the fact that the demand of society is not that "significant" compared here.  Nevertheless, for those who are still in our province, be thankful, at least you're still not tagged as soon-to-be-extinct (tnx Tito Jun for the thought).   But still, people living in here should be more careful not just for the crimes but for some factors which creates a "great" difference on values and priorities on one's life.

3. Meeting with friends should be based on appointments. Considering the distance of the places, yes, you should set appointments with your friends if you're planning to meet with them. I only had the chance to meet with few of my friends and sadly, the only person that I saw thrice was just Jhoie but nevertheless I'm thankful because at least from now on, I'd get to see her often.

4. Credentials may or may not count. Yep, competition is so stiff that oftentimes, your "flying colors" doesn't seem to fit at all. Face it, there are really a number of competent applicants here. What could really make you stand our from the crowd is CONFIDENCE. You should be able to defend your qualifications just like your thesis. Companies hire people who can assert themselves not those who assume that they will be hired because they have written their achievements on their resume.  It's just a paper, they will hire you, not the paper.

5. Metro Manila is not a good place to spend your vacation. You don't your vacation to be  so stressful because of the endless traffic right? The big malls and the divisoria would be cool but if you want serenity, then manila is not a good place, better remove it from your  list. Trust me.

When Someone Misses That Someone

when REAL FRIENDS part ways to SEARCH for their success, some things are SACRIFICED... their TIME to enjoy each other's company and their MERE PRESENCE which gives you theCOMFORT and ASSURANCE that you'll have someone to turn to.

..and the TORMENT of MISSING THEM and wanting to HOLD THEM kills you more.

but FRIENDSHIP doesn't end there.

because FRIENDSHIP is more than theHUGS, the TAPS, the GIMICKS, the LAUGHTER, the TEARS...

it is holding on to what isINVISIBLE  andTRUSTING that despite theABSENCE, you're FRIENDS... that you'll always be NO MATTER WHAT..

THIS IS WHAT FRIENDSHIP IS ALL ABOUT

... 'coz I'm Leaving on a Jetplane

Yesterday, we were in molino for a farewell party. Ca, may, oey, momi and the culprit (kixie) were there. It was about time that we say goodbye for the mean time to our dear friend, kixie, for she will be away for a while. She's bound for South Cotabato where she'll be spending her meaningful JVP months.  It was supposed to be an ordinary night with the typical "take care"s, "goodluck"s and "goodbye"s but I never felt that.  It became a night of reconnection, a simple act of reuniting. I was surprised by the countless stories that we shared and how much I missed them. THEM..the special persons who stood by me regardless of who I am and what I have. It's just sad that Kix has to leave though I know that it was meant to be, it was planned that she has to go there and be part of the community.  It just pains me knowing that there could be a greater possibility that we will not see each other as often as we want but I'm definite that whenever we want to keep in touch, we could always reach each other regardless of the distance. I'll keep the missed calls and texts in mind, kixie ^_^
Another shot. Tim is leaving too. It will also be this week and it's definite. Ooh..why does everybody leave? x_x Albeit, it's only a month or more, reality is he will not be here. Guess I have to think of some effective coping mechanism while they're away.
